What do you know about TMJ? Did you know that TMJ is the joint that connects your jaw to your skull? If this joint is damaged or not working properly, you may experience pain in your jaw, a clicking or popping sound, ear pain, headaches, and sore, stiff jaw muscles, These symptoms don’t necessarily mean you do have TMJ, but it is a good idea to be seen if you are experiencing these conditions.
Our doctor is uniquely positioned to help you deal with issues caused by TMJ. Often, these problems can be addressed easily. In fact, sometimes all you’ll have to do is change your diet or do a few jaw exercises. However, at other times, our doctor may need to create an appliance for you. Other needs may require more complex procedures. Similarly, if you grind your teeth at night, you may be given advice or a dental appliance to resolve the problem since teeth grinding can lead to TMJ issues.
If you are suffering from the effects of TMJ problems, we invite you to make an appointment with Dr. Carl McMillan as soon as possible. To schedule an appointment with us, please contact TMJ Therapy at 801-756-0900. We will also be happy to answer any questions and concerns you have, and help you receive the care and relief you deserve!
